Memorial Day is the day when we celebrate the sacrifices of people who have lived and died for our national. It is one of the most cherished holidays of the year. And, this year around falls on Monday! What this means is that it’s going to be a long-long weekend. I’m sure you must have had all your plans set up with friends to enjoy this weekend and drink to your full. Haven’t you? Well, that’s great. Holidays are meant for celebration.

But today in this post we’re going to talk not about celebrations, but the aftermaths and how you can get your fitness regimen back on track after drinking like a camel in the desert. We are going to talk about Post Memorial Day Detox!

Don’t forget that drinking alcohol can make your skin dehydrated. In order to get it back on the right track, you need to give it the fluid intake it deserves. That’s exactly why the detox diet becomes even more important. So, let us take a look how you can get back on track.

Go for juice cleanse

The best way to enrich the body with the nutrients, after a long weekend, is to replenish it with a juice cleanse. Here is a list of some of the top choice in juice blends that you can try –

  • Apple, Ginger & Lemon
  • Kiwi, Apple, Cucumber, Mint & Lemon
  • Kale, Spanish, Beets, Celery and Apple

These fruits are rich in antioxidants and therefore can work wonders in replenishing the body and hydrating it to counter balance the aftermaths of your long weekend celebration.

Plenty of water

We all know that our body is approximately 70% water. So, it won’t be wrong to say that water is going to be the most important part of the cleanser that you are going to undergo. Drink as much water as you can – following the 8X8 rule can help here. What this rule means is drinking at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water – and that’s the bare minimum. Try to consume water so that the body cells do not get damaged because of the dehydration effect that alcohol causes.

Steamed veggies

The last thing on the list that we have here for you as part of the Post Memorial Detox Plan is steamed veggies. Stuff like kale, broccoli, asparagus, green beans, cabbage, beat, squash and sweet potatoes could work wonders to get your body back on track.

A little discipline for a few days is all it will take to bring back the body right on track after the long weekend celebrations. This is something that your body deserves – after all, the aftermaths of alcohol consumption during the holiday can prove to be quite costly on your body in the longer. And, if you don’t want that to happen, then taking on the 3-5 days of juice cleanse can be the smartest idea.

So, what are you waiting for? First plan the celebrations, and then go ahead and plan your diet chart for the cleanse that you will undergo after the Memorial Day Celebrations!
